Halloween Pumpkin - Crochet for Beginners - Worked in the Round
Pumpkin Body
Using a 4mm hook and your chosen pumpkin colour, ch 2. You can also use the magic ring method and ch 1.
Note: The body is worked in continuous rounds.
RND 1: dc into the ring and pull tight.
RND 2: 2 dc) into each st. (12 sts)
RND 3: dc, (2 dc), 6 times. (18 sts)
RND 4: dc, *(2 dc) in next st, dc in next 2 sts, rep from * 5 times, 2 dc in next st, dc into last st. (24 sts)
Medium & Large only
RND 5: dc in next 3 sts, (2 dc) in next st, 6 times. (30 sts)
RND 6: dc in next 2 sts, *2 dc in next st, dc in next 4 sts, rep from * 5 times, dc in next 2 sts, dc into last 2 st. (36 sts)
RND 7: sc in next 5 sts, (2 dc) in next st, 6 times. (42 sts)
Large only
RND 8: dc in next 3 sts, *2 dc in next st, dc in next 6 sts, rep from * 5 times, dc in next 3 sts, dc into last 2 st. (48 sts)
RND 9: dc in next 7 sts, (2 dc) in next st, 6 times. (54 sts)
RND 10: dc in next 4 sts, *2 dc in next st, dc in next 8 sts, rep from * 5 times, dc in next 4 sts, dc into last 2 st. (60 sts)

Decreasing begins
Note: For decrease stitches, you can either work dc2tog or inv-dec.
Large only

Do not fasten off. Pull your loop on your hook big enough to go around your pumpkin, position around the middle and pull tight to create ridges in your pumpkin. Secure into the top of the pumpkin with a sl st and repeat until you have the number of ridges you want. Recommend doing 3-4 times depending on size of pumpkin.
