Week Five Square Seventeen: V-Stitch
Stitches you need to know
YO yarn over - bring your yarn over your hook from the back over the top to the front
CH chain - pull your yarn over through the loop on your hook.
SLST slip stitch - insert hook, yarn over and pull up a loop, pull through loop on hook.
DC double crochet (US sc - single crochet) - insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through both loops on your hook.
CH-SP chain space - the space created by a chain stitch.

Special Stitches
V-ST V stitch – tr, ch, tr into the same space.
Tension
Approx 5 v-sts and 8 rows per 10x10cm square.
The Pattern
Using your MC, ch 28.
ROW 1: v-st into 5th ch from hook. (3 ch counts as tr here and throughout) *sk 2 ch, v-st into next ch, rep from * 7 times. sk 1 ch, tr into last ch. (8 v-sts)
Change colour on last yo.
ROW 2-15: ch 3, v-st into each ch-sp from prev row v-st. Tr into top of ch 3. (8 v-sts)
Fasten off and weave in your ends. Attach to any st in your last row, 2 dc in each v-st ch-sp, and dc between each v-st. (dc ch, dc) into corner st, roughly place 25-27 sts down the edge.
