Week Four Square Thirteen: Textured Square

Stitches you need to know

YO yarn over - bring your yarn over your hook from the back over the top to the front

CH chain - pull your yarn over through the loop on your hook.

SLST slip stitch - insert hook, yarn over and pull up a loop, pull through loop on hook.

TR treble crochet (US dc - double crochet) yarn over, insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on your hook twice.

DTR double-treble crochet (US tr - triple crochet) yarn over twice, insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on your hook three times.

CH-SP chain space - the space created by a chain stitch.

Special Stitches

FPDTR front post double-treble (US FPtr - front post treble) - yo twice, insert hook around post of stitch from previous row, starting at the front to back, yo, pull up a loop, complete as normal double-treble.

Tension

Round measurements: Approx 2.5 : 5 : 7.5 : 9.5 : 10.5 : 13 : 14.5 : 15 cm

The Pattern

Using your CC2, start your round with your chosen method.

RND 1: Ch 3 (counts as tr here and throughout), 2 tr, *ch 2, 3 tr, rep from * 3 times. Ch 2. Change to next colour on last yo. Join with sl st around top of ch 3, as if completing a FP st. (12 sts)

RND 2-6: ch 3 (counts a FPdtr), *FPdtr to corner-sp, (2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr) into corner space, rep from * 4 times, FPdtr to last st. (28:44:60:76:92:108 sts)

Fasten off and weave in your ends.
