Week One Square Three: Linen Stitch

Stitches you need to know

YO yarn over - bring your yarn over your hook from the back over the top to the front

CH chain - pull your yarn over through the loop on your hook.

DC double crochet (US sc - single crochet) - insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through both loops on your hook.

CH-SP ch-sp hain space - the space formed by a chain.

18sts and 21 rows per 10x10cm square

 

The Pattern

Using your CC2, ch 31.

ROW 1: dc into 3rd ch from hook. *ch 1, sk, dc to end. Turn your work.

Change to MC.

ROW 2: ch 2, dc into the 1st ch-sp prev row. *ch 1, sk, dc into next ch-sp, rep from * until the end of the row.

Rep row 2 until you reach 30 rows. Alternate between your colours until the end.

You will work through your colours CC2, MC, CC1 until you have reached 30 rows, and 10 colour repeats. 

Fasten off and weave in your end.

Attach your yarn to any of the last row with you MC, dc into each st to the corner. (dc, ch, dc) into the corner st. Work 25-27 stitches down the side, approximately 5 stitches every 6-7 stitches. 

Finish with an invisible finish.
