Week Two Square Eight: Solid Square

Stitches you need to know

YO yarn over - bring your yarn over your hook from the back over the top to the front

CH chain - pull your yarn over through the loop on your hook.

TR treble crochet (US dc - double crochet) - yarn over, insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on your hook twice.

CH-SP chain space - the space formed by a chain.

Tension

Round measurements:  Approx 2.5 : 5 : 7.5 : 10 : 12.5 : 15 : 15.5 cm

 

The Pattern

Using your CC2, start your round with your chosen method.

RND 1: Ch 3 (counts as tr here and throughout), 2 tr, *ch 2, 3 tr, rep from * 3 times. Ch 2. Change to next colour on last yo. Join with sl st into top of ch 3. (12 sts)

RND 2-6:  ch 3 (counts a tr), tr in each st to corner-sp, (2 tr, ch 2, 2 tr) into corner space, rep from * 4 times, tr to last st. (28:44:60:76:92:108 sts)

Alternate between all colours.

Change to MC.

RND 7: ch 1, *dc in each st to corner, (dc, ch 1, dc) into the corner sp, rep from * 4 times, dc to end. (116 sts)

Fasten off and weave in your ends.
