Week Two Square Six: Granny Stitch Stripes

Stitches you need to know

YO yarn over - bring your yarn over your hook from the back over the top to the front

CH chain - pull your yarn over through the loop on your hook.

TR treble crochet (US dc - double crochet) - yarn over, insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on your hook twice.

Tension

Approx 17 sts and 8 rows per 10x10cm square

The Pattern

Using your CC1, ch 27.

ROW 1: tr into 4th ch from hook (sk ch 3 counts as tr), tr into next st, *ch 1, sk 1 ch, tr into next 3 ch, rep from * 5 times, ch 1, sk 1 ch, tr into last ch. Join your MC on last yo.

ROW 2: ch 3, (2 tr) into ch-sp, *ch 1, 3 tr into next ch-sp, rep from * 5 times, ch 1, tr into top of ch 3 from prev row. Join your CC2 on last yo.

ROW 3-13: As row 2, cycle through your colours in order: CC1, MC, CC2.

Fasten off and weave in your end.

Attach to any st in your last row, dc in each st to corner (dc ch, dc) into corner st, roughly place 25-27 sts down the edge.

 

Finish with an invisible finish.
